Keiser Road, Columbia City, Indiana

We purchased this home as a run down, empty farmhouse. The original house was built around 1800 and has had two major additions in the years since then. There were three separate basements and a stairway that came down into the only sizable room that could be used as a master bedroom downstairs. In addition, the kitchen was only about 6 feet by 24 feet. We completely gutted the downstairs and replaced all the electrical and plumbing then installed new sheet rock throughout. We also added 10 feet to the kitchen so we now have a 16x24 eat-in kitchen.

We moved the stairs to the upper level and added a full bath to the upper level. We converted three smaller rooms on the main level to a master suite with a private bath and walk-in closet. In addition, the first floor has a public half-bath, a living room, entry, a bonus room, laundry area,  and access to the new attached two-car garage. The upstairs now has two good-sized bedrooms and a full bath.
